I had a 10″ Ash log, 6′ long, with a fork at the small end about 14″ wide. I wanted to cut it in half to make bench seats – so I bought one of these mills. I was super impressed by the quality, design, and instructions. I put the mill on my Husky 450 (which is probably a little under powered) and set up some wood rails.
It did perfectly, and I encourage anyone who is wondering whether this mill is useful; it’s a great little tool. I’m gonna carry it into the woods to use on some of our northern NM Ponderosa so I can carry out lumber instead of logs.
PS – A Husky 450 with 18″ bar is ultra light, but with the ripping chain – on Ash – it never refused.

I highly recommend this mill for anyone! I doesnt have the capability of doing the massive slabs, but can do upwards of 18″. Ive slabbed 1000’s of bf with mine in the last 3 years ive had mine. And love it. Was using a smaller 50cc but moved up to a 68cc and that gives it the power to motor through anything. Granberg also has amazing personal customer service. A piece on my mill broke and qfter speaking with them they sent out a replacement! Again very happy with it highly recommend.

Easy assembly and use. Works great on Paper birch and Russian Olive. Will using it on poplar soon. Very satisfied. I’m a hobby wood worker only and this is just the ticket.

Had mine for 10 years now mounted on my stihl ms441cm. I’ve even used mine with a 28″ bar cutting maple and oak without any deviation in thickness from side to side. High quality and great for my hobby woodworking. Saved me thousands of dollars.

I tried my new Granberg Alaskan Saw Mill today for the very first time. It’s amazingly simple to use – and the results speak for themselves.
The picture below is of several beautiful six foot long, two inch thick, twenty inch wide oak slabs that I cut from a freshly cut log that I spotted lying in a commercial lot near where I live. I called the phone number that was on a sign on the lot. The owner was more than happy for me to remove the log from his property. I sliced it into slabs right where it lay. Easy peasy.
    Great product! Thanks!

Was going for a lighter weight milling system for a small rural property and for access to fallen native timber on isolated bush blocks. Great quality and fantastic service Granberg in getting this and the chains out to NZ during the difficult pandemic times. Very happy with my mini-mill and the work it has done so far on both NZ native and exotic timber. (though, buggered one chain on an old overgrown bridge spike!). Big thanks from New Zealand

  8. Levi Sampson

I have milled thousands of board feet with my G777 small log mills. I really like how light the mill is. I also like the versatility in being able to easily use it with saws up to 92cc’s. This mill is great for people starting out as well as people who have been chainsaw milling for years. I highly recommend this mill.
